Reduce Wildfire Risks

Please take a moment to read about fire-safety, the Association’s National Fire Wise certification standing, and fire-wise safety resources:

THE FACTS:
Experiments, models and post-fire studies have shown homes ignite due to the condition of the home and everything around it within the 100 foot home ignition zone. Except for 24 homes located in a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone, all other homes in Sea Pointe Estates are located in a High Fire Hazard Severity Zone.

By investing heavily since 2018 to reduce wildfire risks, Sea Pointe Estates has been recognized as a FirewiseUSA community in 2019 and 2020 by the National Fire Protection Association. See the list of FirewiseUSA sites:

Our community is 1 of only 5 in Orange County to be so recognized and is the first and so far only such community in San Clemente. The renewal application for 2021 is pending approval.

A requirement for becoming and continuing to be a FirewiseUSA community is to educate our residents about reducing wildfire risks. Education seminars were presented in the clubhouse in 2018 and 2019 by a Fire Prevention Specialist from the Orange County Fire Authority. Due to COVID-19 it wasn’t possible to present seminars in 2020.

The purpose of this email is to focus your attention and educate you about steps for reducing wildfire risk and to inform you about home insurance discounts available to our residents because Sea Pointe Estates is a FirewiseUSA community.

The overall safety of our entire community depends on every resident proactively reducing wildfire risk on their property.
